Greetings, First Baptist Family,

This Sunday, we’re coming together for one worship service. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to see each other, worship together through song, and hear the Good News as we seek God’s vision together. Please bring your hearts and your passion and be ready to celebrate Jesus. We’re also excited to celebrate with Annie Jackson, who will be baptized during Sunday morning’s worship service, publicly demonstrating her love for Jesus.

Immediately following the worship service, we’ll have an opportunity to encourage and support Rick Hoskins and J.R. Jackson as they are ordained as deacons at First Baptist Church. Both men have been examined by our current deacons and have already been serving in associate roles. They have shown hearts of service and care for our congregation, along with a deep desire to serve and commit to Jesus Christ. The ordination service will allow us to acknowledge their commitment and show our support through prayer and the laying on of hands as part of our church leadership. Please make time to attend and support them.

After the ordination service, we will hold our quarterly Family Meeting, formerly known as the business meeting. During this meeting, we will learn about what God is doing in our ministries and make decisions to help us continue moving in the direction God is leading us, including voting on the purchase of a new copier.

Following the Family Meeting, we will enjoy a potluck meal with a Mexican theme. We invite everyone to bring main dishes, side dishes, and desserts to share. A warming cabinet will be available in the basement kitchen for those who want to keep their hot items warm and two refrigerators for keeping items cold during the morning worship.

It’s a big day! Let’s celebrate Jesus together.
