Community & Discipleship
"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
-Acts 2:42-47 NIV
This passage speaks of the early church gathering devoted to the apostles teaching, breaking bread, praying, selling all they had to support each other, and the mission Christ had commissioned. Some look at this as an idealized dream, but we believe wholeheartedly that our church is practicing this sort of life devoted to Christ through our connection groups. This fall we want everyone to have an opportunity to experience the beauty of being part of groups that gather for fellowship, bible study, and service through our “Expand Nights”. Starting August 26th at 5:45 PM we will gather for a pitch-in meal every other Wednesday and then break off into our groups to dig into God’s word as we further explore the sermon from the past week.* In this season we will specifically looking at what it means to be a healthy disciple of Christ. We hope our church family can grow in unity, and become the disciples Christ is calling us to be. We know it adds something to your already busy lives but we believe it will be worth it as we focus on Christ and the life He calls us to together!
